According to al-Maliki that the U.S. and European attempts and the Quartet, which took place prior to the application the Palestinian goal was to reach a number of proposals for a return to negotiations again and stop the Palestinian quest on to go to the United Nations to the extent that some countries have started to talk about these negotiations and not a request for membership of Palestine.
